Day 55 – Simple Hair Dare

Over the years I have tried just about everything with my hair. Blond, red, black, ombre, highlights, low lights. Short, super short, long, bobbed, A line, chic, punk, side braids, bun, teased pony, straight, curly…you name it- I’ve tried it! I recently bumped into a tutorial for how to do a messy chignon. I know it’s pretty much a bun but I thought for today’s intention I would try the look. We are headed out with 3 couples tonight for dinner to a restaurant in Federal Hill in Providence. Maybe I can hone in on a chic look with a natural makeup, side messy chignon and I’m thinking…black pencil skirt, simple top and my favorite little vintage Chanel purse. Oh yes!

Anyhow, per the tutorial- I teased every bit of my hair with my teasing brush. Whoa! I followed each and every step and I do believe I completed the look well. Simple elegance. I’m really starting to embrace that at times. I do appreciate my personal fashion sense and it’s subtle, evolving taste. I love makeup (all things MAC), I’m obsessed with my Chanel lip gloss and I don’t know which is better, a perfect pair of shoes or a perfect fitting pair of jeans (obsession: Miss Me Jeans). When it comes to my thoughts and admiration of accessories and how to properly accessorize – I have strong personal opinions (for myself anyways). I have always loved that fashion- albeit clothes, hair, accessories, makeup or whatnot is a true testimony of one’s self, one’s feelings and one’s current placement on life’s journey for both men and women.

Anyhow, as I get a little older (A LITTLE!!) I’ve come to realize that sometimes, less really is more. Sometimes! lol
Cheers to embracing simple elegance, an intentional simple messy chignon and a great evening out. #HGAL365
