Day 50 – Appreciation

This morning I met my friend for a nice walk on a sunny, brisk morning. We ended up stopping for tea, doing a little window shopping and chatted it up with local shop owners. We wandered to the local wharf area and marveled at the site of a large part of the ocean being frozen over! She even took me on a quick tour of her church (the one where the Kennedy’s got married that I talked about on Heathers birthday) and it was GORGEOUS inside! Anyhow, it was a beautiful morning. We ended up hanging out for about 3 hours. When we were saying our goodbye’s, we actually found ourselves thanking one another for the nice walk. I really do appreciate her friendship and company and am so very blessed to have her live so close.

In the spirit of appreciation, for today’s intention I decided to appreciate someone I do not know at all: my mailman. I think about this years cold and snowy winter and the fact that there have been times I haven’t even received my mail until like 6-7:00 at night! I'm lucky to have received it at all most of the time. This poor guy is out there in the rain, snow, wind and sub-zero temperatures and I feel showing my appreciation is the right thing to do.

Recently I bought a bag of my favorite cookies, Milano (Dark Chocolate). These cookies are so amazing! Well, I hadn’t opened them yet. So for today’s intention, I grabbed some pink ribbon and a little tag, tied the ribbon around the package real pretty, wrote a thank you note on the tag and attached it. I placed them in my box so that no matter what it cannot be missed. I hope this small token of appreciation makes my mail man’s day. These fabulous cookies surely always make mine!
