Day 51 - National Day

I was listening to the radio while I was getting ready this morning and they announced that today is National Pancake Day. I have heard of so many of these “National Days” in the last few years. Maybe I was out of the loop but I don’t ever recall hearing about National sister’s day, strawberry day, margarita day, cheese day, go barefoot day, etc. when I was growing up. Have they been there all along? I obviously recall regular holidays but not National Dance Like A Chicken Day? Hahaha not kidding that one is May 14th!

In fact curiosity got the better of me and I decided to research the National Day calendar. You can find it at nationaldaycalendar.com. It’s a crack up. Each day has a few things to celebrate and I enjoyed looking through.
I decided that for today’s intention, I will celebrate this National Day. We are not going to IHOP because I have a feeling that by them giving away free pancakes, it is sure to be a madhouse there which is not something I want to deal with at a restaurant. So, we are having breakfast for dinner, right here at our home- including obviously…pancakes! I put my spin on them like I usually do and added cinnamon and vanilla to the batter to sweeten them up a bit, just the way my family likes them. I even took it just a step further in the spirit of celebration and made them in the shapes of hearts. I love adding “little touches” to simple tasks to just put a smile on my family’s face when I can.

I enjoyed today’s intention, it was fun and yummy. In fact, I will be looking forward to maybe incorporating another National Day or 2 in this year’s blog.
