Day 97 – Jazz and Flower Market (& more!!)

I’ve been looking forward to today all week. The weather was predicted to be in the high 60’s and nothing but sunshine!! I began the day with a nice walk with Jen. We went to get a smoothie from the raw juice bar and sat by the ocean for quite a while catching up and soaking in the sunrays. I’m so glad she’s back (she’s been out of town for a bit)!

I came back home and Vinny, Elijah and I ate brunch and planned the rest of our day out. For my intention today, Vinny and I went to the Jazz and Flower Market at a local park. It was in an old quarry and there were 19,000 daffodils planted and springing to life- which was quite a site. Live jazz music was playing in the background and there were people of all ages wandering about. Then we went on a scenic ride, stopping briefly at another park to walk around the coastline for a bit. We headed over to our local beach after that- but when the breeze starting getting cooler we headed home so I could change. After a late lunch we walked down to my favorite sweets place “Cupcake Charlie’s” and each indulged in amazing cupcakes.
As we were talking and walking about I mentioned to Vinny that I heard it was National Record Store Day and there was one in the area. I asked him if we could stop in and of course he said yes. As we were looking through the records, we reminisced a bit about some of the older music and newer music as well and it was a fun stop. The town was packed like crazy and everywhere you walked all I could smell was waffle cones (LOVE that smell) and fudge! Just walking through it was a treat- lol.

A little later this evening, we all went together to the movies to watch Furious 7. Me and the boys love this series. This one was amazing as well. I know they are far-fetched but I love them regardless. The end choked me up a bit but the tribute to Paul Walker was done so classy and unique. Obviously, thinking of his passing made me think of Heather and how much I miss her presence in my life. Funny thing is, literally on our way home I got a text from her husband with a picture of pancakes and text saying “Sarah inspired- she did it all by herself.” Heathers daughter raved about the pancakes I taught her to make when I was there earlier this year and she made them today which touched my heart and was the cherry on top to my beautiful day. #HGAL
