Day 24 - Neighborly Kindness

Today was a great day indeed. I restored/refinished yet another piece of furniture- took care of some things around the house and then we had our friends over for a great dinner, dessert and wonderful conversation.

I digress...This morning my husband and I went to run a couple of errands. On our way out, we noticed someone moving in next door. However, instead of the perfunctory nod and quick hi, I decided for my days’ intention to show true neighborly kindness. We introduced ourselves, had some very pleasant conversation and advised him that if he or his family ever needed anything to please let us know.

I have always felt like its best to know as many neighbors as possible. It makes the days friendlier. It’s safer. It’s a truly better way of life. In our last neighborhood we knew many of our neighbors in our community. As I’ve mentioned before- here it seems as though people are a bit more closed in and to themselves- (winter months seem to be friendlier though). Either way, I have been able to make some friends including another one of my neighbors. But I will continue to do my part to reach out to other neighbors as the opportunity permits and eventually bring together my community here. Today was a great start to that and a well spent intention for sure. #HGAL
