Day 22 - Hot Chocolate

Today was another crazy weather day and we got snowed in. The good news about that is my husband Vinny got to stay home from work today. We were able to work on a project together which we always thoroughly enjoy. We watched a couple of movies and hung out together all day.

The weather was frisky all day. There was a sporadic barrage of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain. As the night progressed, I went to the kitchen to make myself a nice hot cup of tea. Instead however, I thought to myself- I’m going to do something I haven’t done in years. It’s not a big deal per se, but a great way to “change it up.”

For my intention today, in a nod of sorts to my younger years, I decided to make myself a nice cup of hot chocolate (marshmallows and all). Luckily I had some hot chocolate on hand as I make it for my son and husband at times. I only had the large marshmallows but that would work just fine.

As I pulled out the supplies, I tried to remember the last time I had hot chocolate but could not. Although I would make it for others, personally I would opt for coffee or tea. As I made it, I found myself smiling. After I made both Vinny and myself a cup, I wrapped up in my snuggly blanket that is used as a throw on my sofa. I sipped and savored and thought to myself that this was a lovely intention: a steaming cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night. A seemingly small intention that packed a large feel good impact.
