I woke up to another grey, gloomy day here in good ‘ol New
England. The snow was coming down like crazy. After our coffee and breakfast we
decided to get on out of the house, go by the beach, run some errands and see
where our day took us. It was a truly lovely morning I must admit. We ended up
at the grocery store and as soon as we walked in, I knew exactly what my
intention would be. I told Vinny, “we need some springtime color in the house
to brighten up these gloomy days.” He said that was a great idea.
We looked at pretty much every plant, flower and bouquet
offered. We were sniffin away and comparing what we thought would be best. I
walked over to an especially bright and extremely fragrant Hyacinth. Vinny
immediately said, “Yup, that’s it! You’re favorite color pink and it smells
awesome and looks healthy.” So there it was. I must admit, I love that he gets
completely involved with everything I feel is important- he has been that way
from the beginning. He is especially on board with anything to do with this
blog and my intentions. He adored Heather and they always had so much fun
together when we all were around.
Shortly after we got home, I was making us all a big batch
of chicken nachos for lunch. I put the flowers on one of my favorite stands and
placed it in the middle of our table right where it will receive a nice amount
of pm sun exposure. Anyhow, I noticed the craziest thing… Shortly after I
placed the flowers on the table, the sun came out! It’s still shining so bright
and vibrant, even now as I write this. I snapped a picture of my favorite part
of the sunshine from my home-the glistening sun making what my friend Kathy
says “diamonds on the water.” Beautiful. And to think, with just one touch of
color I feel like Spring has sprung into my afternoon!
