Day 133 – Beaches and Books

Beaches and books- definitely a dynamic duo! I mean honestly, those two things just go so magically together. The beach: the sun, the sand, the breeze, the water, the snacks, the drinks, the people, the atmosphere. And books: the imagination, the journey, the time out, the storyline drama, the feel of the pages, the smell of the paper.

So today for my intention- after a late breakfast, Vinny and I headed to the beach. Needless to say it was packed! There were people everywhere. The gigantic indoor carousel was operational, the on-site aquarium was bursting with people as well as the snack bars which out here are every bit as good as restaurants with their lobster rolls and various other sea food items.
Vinny and I sat and just let the sun work it’s magic, chatting it up and enjoying each others company. It was pretty breezy out which at times was even a bit cool. But that didn’t stop anyone- there were people in the water (not many), kids running and playing, couples walking hand in hand, people having their beachside picnics and more.

In regular beach fashion, I began my first official summer read. The book is titled Sparkles and to be quite honest the name and sparkly front cover is what grabbed my attention. But I’m so happy that it is proving to be an awesome read as well. From the first chapter I was hooked and I just love books that pull me in like that! Today proved to be an amazing day for sure. It’s funny because Heather’s husband sent me a picture today with the kids at the beach too- so clearly this is a happy, beach day for many. #livelovelaugh #beachdaysareinfullswing #HGAL
