I drove across the bridge that had about 15-20 fisherman on
it. I went over and parked at the Hyatt Regancy and talked to a gentleman who
directed me on how to access the lighthouse. It was only a couple hours away
from sundown, the breeze had picked up and the air was slightly cool but completely
comfortable. As I walked around the
paved path, I noticed a long row of Adirondack chairs inviting me in to sit at
the shore and take in the most breathtaking view- and so I did just that. As I
sat there I noticed a faint smell of gas- as I looked around I realized I was
right by a fire pit that was lit and beautiful. The large bridge leading to my
island was in the distance, the boats were everywhere in the bay and the water
was choppy enough to be heard but not quite rough.
As I walked on, there it was- a beautiful lighthouse! It
wasn’t as big as some of the other lighthouses I have been to but Goat Island
is quite small and quaint so that was totally understandable. I took some
pictures and then stood there just taking in my surroundings. I found myself with
a large smile on my face and actually felt compelled to call my husband and say
how happy I was to be doing this today. We decided that we will surely come
back soon to take in a sunset together with the fire going, sitting in the
chairs and visiting the adjoining bar for an ocean side cocktail and I am
surely looking forward to that. I called my mom as well and shared with her
that when she comes to visit I have another wonderful place to show her.
As I left I was smiling ear to ear and grateful deep in my
heart and soul to be so blessed to have had this journey today. #lifeisgood
