Here we had a bit of a quiet day….running errands, cooking,
eating and hanging out. Elijah went out with his buddies for a bit but before
he did I asked him to come with me to participate in my intention. Just down
the road and around the corner from me, there is a seasonal shop that has
recently opened. I passed it earlier and it was jammed with people. They serve
gelato, ice cream and waffles on a stick! I thought that was such a cute idea
for a dessert and I just had to try it. They came with many different options
but Elijah chose powdered sugar and cinnamon and I chose chocolate with
sprinkles.
OMG they were sooo good!! I had a chance to speak with the
owner for a bit and she was just lovely. I told her I was taking pictures to
place on my blog. She asked what kind of blog I had and when I explained it to
her she said she was so impressed with such a positive and inspirational idea
for a blog. I told her that it is a life changing concept and I appreciated her
positive feedback. Once again I am proud to be able to share Heathers’ memory even
with perfect strangers and hope they are inspired to live their lives with
intention and positivity while they can. #HGAL In memory of my lifelong best friend and cousin who was taken by cancer in 2011, I will be chronicling the next 365 days of my life to live with intention and do something each and every day with my life in her memory.

Day 134 – Holiday Yum-Yum
Happy Memorial Day! After a nice relaxed morning spent with
my family, we briefly watched a special on the History Channel with some war
hero stories that were both inspirational and sad. I saw on Facebook today a
post that had a picture of Arlington Cemetery that read “All gave some, some
gave all”. What a powerful statement. Heather’s husband and step son are in the
military and I bet she surely would have celebrated today with BBQ, desserts,
family and friends. We were not raised with a military family background but I
surely respect and thoroughly appreciate the sacrifices made to keep our
country safe.
