Even though I try not to rush around too much, there is
something to be said for simply strolling. I definitely don’t stroll too often.
So as we walked, we saw the doors open to the International Yacht Restoration
School just down the street and stood there for a bit watching some of the
people sanding, sawing and working away at building and restoring boats. Then
we walked around the “yard” where they store the boats for the winter. The
ground was covered in crushed shells (instead of gravel) which is such an
authentic touch.
We wandered by an antique dealer and looked through the gate
at some large statues, fountains and cool lighting fixtures. We window shopped
at a few of the local boutiques, some of which are starting to festively
prepare their windows for the upcoming holiday season. We looked at posted
menus for a few restaurants we haven’t yet tried and even stumbled upon a
seafood restaurant that must have recently opened that we are excited to try.
We went by the coffeehouse, a retro diner that was closed
but still illuminated to draw attention and more than one courtyard beautifully
lit with unique lighting and even one had a fire going. We passed some windows
with flyers advertising upcoming events in the area. We strolled hand in hand
simply enjoying the crisp night air and enjoyed seeing our little town from an
evening, fall night kind of perspective. #HGAL #lovewalks
