Just as I was pulling the vines up to decide how to tie it,
Micah was getting ready to snap a picture and I felt a sharp pain in my foot.
Apparently, I shook a big huge bumble bee out of the plant. Somehow I stepped
just on the side of it as it lay on its back (probably a bit dormant from the
cool night air) and it got me- right on the side of my foot! (These bees are
usually so friendly, I didn’t even think they stung but I guess when you step on
half their body they have no choice but to sting- poor little guy)
I said “Ow, Ow, what was that?” Micah and I looked down and
saw it laying there and looked at each other with a bit of shock and amazement.
I went in the house in a bit of a panic because the last time I got stung by a
bee (when I was a little kid) I had a very bad reaction. Within just seconds
Vinny, Micah, Elijah and his friend Eva (who was over for dinner) surrounded
me. I was nervous because I didn’t know if I would have a reaction. Vinny and
Micah googled it right away. Vinny was looking for a stinger. He packed me some
ice and everyone just stayed around me talking and checking in on me very
closely for about 30 minutes.
I decided to write about this tonight because the quick
action, caring, comfort and attention I received from my family was so
heartwarming. I know Vinny and my boys would do anything for me but it’s times
like this that just melt a momma’s heart. So, my intention did not work out
just the way it was planned but that is life and embracing life’s moments is a
majorly important aspect in rolling through the bumps, or stings, life throws
our way lol. #HGAL #Imfine #noreactiontothebumblebeesting
