After a long day, I found myself alone in the house. My son
is at practice and Vinny is having a late night at work tonight. I turned off
most of the lights (except my favorite salt lamp and a small corner lamp)and
put this movie on for my days intention. I put my feet up, had my tea in hand
and simply enjoyed all this movie had to offer. I love the emotion of this
movie and could really write a lot about so many parts of this movie and why I
love it so much. The sights and sounds of her singing Moon River on her stoop.
Her innocent and vulnerable night spent in the arms of “Fred.” Her eye shades,
ear plugs, large hats, nameless cat, nonchalant attitude, complete abandon,
careless ways, delicate demeanor with an underlying fierce love makes her a
character to just adore. However, instead of going on about all the things I
love about classic movies (this one in particular)- I will just say cheers to a
simpler time in life, a great movie and a lovely intention.
In memory of my lifelong best friend and cousin who was taken by cancer in 2011, I will be chronicling the next 365 days of my life to live with intention and do something each and every day with my life in her memory.

Day 23 - Hollywood Classic
For many, many years I have loved classic movies. So many of
them seem to portray a simpler time in life I suppose. The clothes, the hats,
even the way they speak are just so enjoyable to me. My favorite classic movie
is Breakfast with Tiffany’s. I could watch the intro alone over and over. When
she steps out of the cab on the dawn of a new day, in an abandoned New York
City street, dressed to the 9’s clearly after a long night out. You can almost
hear her thoughts as she admires for a moment the force that is Tiffany &
Co. I just love the way she slowly saunters up to the window to have her coffee
and croissant in front of what she considers the happiest place in the world.
I’m in love with the entire scene (and of course the rest of the movie as well).
It is a true classic.
