The weather was frisky all day. There was a sporadic barrage
of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain. As the night progressed, I went to the
kitchen to make myself a nice hot cup of tea. Instead however, I thought to
myself- I’m going to do something I haven’t done in years. It’s not a big deal
per se, but a great way to “change it up.”
For my intention today, in a nod of sorts to my younger
years, I decided to make myself a nice cup of hot chocolate (marshmallows and
all). Luckily I had some hot chocolate on hand as I make it for my son and
husband at times. I only had the large marshmallows but that would work just
fine.
As I pulled out the supplies, I tried to remember the last
time I had hot chocolate but could not. Although I would make it for others,
personally I would opt for coffee or tea. As I made it, I found myself smiling.
After I made both Vinny and myself a cup, I wrapped up in my snuggly blanket
that is used as a throw on my sofa. I sipped and savored and thought to myself
that this was a lovely intention: a steaming cup of hot chocolate on a cold
winter’s night. A seemingly small intention that packed a large feel good
impact.
